The goal of this Professional Development Workshop is to provide PhD students, and those who advise them, with tools to construct an award- winning quality dissertation proposal. Each facilitator is a recent winner, finalist, and/or committee chair of the prestigious INFORMS Organizational Science Dissertation Proposal competition and they will share tips and strategies that most contributed to the success of their dissertation proposals. Content areas relevant to the dissertation proposal process such as finding interesting research question(s), selecting and managing a dissertation committee, conducting strong literature reviews, choosing a rigorous methodology, and preparing for the proposal defense will be presented in an interactive format. Participants will also have multiple opportunities to ask facilitators specific dissertation proposal questions in large and small groups. |
Pre-registration is required for this session. To register online, please visit https://secure.aom.org/PDWReg. The deadline to register online is August 5, 2017. |
