The On-Boarding Diversity in Corporate Boards Research: A Paper Development Workshop is designed for researchers in the field of diversity and corporate governance. Highly experienced scholars, many with editorial experience, will mentor and provide feedback to more junior scholars on papers close to journal submission. Consideration will be given to a wide range of topics in this area, including but not limited to: research on moderators of the link between board diversity and firm level outcomes as well as on mediators of this relationship (including board decision-making, board processes, information processing, or power relations, among others), diversity on boards and board performance (e.g. such as obtaining and processing critical information, relationship to the CEO, trust within the boards etc.), board diversity and corporate strategy, board diversity and CSR/sustainability attention, board ethical behavior, women on board, board composition and equality, international/cross-country comparisons as well as new methodological approaches. Participants are asked to submit a manuscript that is close to submission to a refereed journal. At AOM, each paper will receive detailed oral feedback from experienced scholars, who will highlight strengths and areas for further development and address any related questions. This PDW heeds journal editors’ advice – that authors seek “friendly reviews” prior to submitting their work to journals – and offers a unique opportunity for AOM members to receive high quality, in- person, feedback on and advice about their work in the area of corporate governance diversity.
Pre-registration is required for this session. To register online, please visit Please contact the workshop organizer Heike.Mensi- to obtain the approval code. The deadline to register online is August 9, 2018.
