This PDW engages multiple AOM stakeholders – PhD program administrators, doctoral program faculty, and those who hire early career academics – in a re-visioning of the purpose and design of management doctoral programs. We draw on findings from a recent research study of early career management academics to spark consideration of this theme. Following description of the research findings, we move to panelist comments on the research and its relevance for doctoral programs. We then engage participants in round table discussions of doctoral programs from administrator, faculty and hiring institution perspectives, and the ways in which the research findings might inform doctoral program education for the future. We conclude with large group sharing of insights from round table discussions and possibilities for re-visioning academic career preparation. |
Pre-registration is required for this session. To register online, please visit https://secure.aom.org/PDWReg. The deadline to register online is August 9, 2018. |
