This interactive PDW is designed for scholars and doctoral students interested in learning about new approaches to data collection and analysis in the context of negotiation research in order to make a stronger contribution to the negotiation field. This PDW is organized into five sections consisting of panels covering a broad range of topics, including the following: New methods for conducting negotiation studies— particularly online, best practices for data collection in class and in the field, new statistical approaches for analyzing dyadic data, and measurement development. We have recruited two speakers per panel, who will share their knowledge and experience in each topic area. Speakers will also be encouraged to have open discussions with participants, including audience-driven Q&A sessions. In the final section, participants will have the opportunity to develop a research plan incorporating the methods discussed, in consultation with panelists and other participants. For example, participants may develop a plan to collect data in the field rather than in an experimental laboratory, develop a framework and studies to design and test a new measure, or utilize new statistical tools to better analyze dyadic data sets.
Pre-registration is required for this session. To register online, please visit https://secure.aom.org/PDWReg. The deadline to register online is August 9, 2018.
