In our teaching and learning conference (TLC) session, we would like to introduce a theoretically-grounded practical approach towards addressing the challenges related to processes (the how) and content (what) of leadership development in a time characterized by digitalization and rapid change (Avolio et al., 2014). Leaders face difficult challenges from digitalization and rapidly changing organizational circumstances. In order to learn effective leadership behaviors relevant for these challenges, we have designed, what we call, a “digital leadership development” program. The program explores novel means and content of leadership training by offering contextualized and personalized training through a digital tool, while also incorporating important digital and informational meta-skills (Holten et al., 2015) into the training. At the TLC session, we would like participants to offer participants to: 1) discuss the general ideas of our program and 2) test selected elements of our digital leadership development. These elements constitute representative examples of the digital means of our training delivery and of the training content for the development of digital skills of leaders.
This session is part of the Teaching and Learning Conference. A registration fee of USD$130 is required at https://aom.link/RegisterforAOM2018. Space is limited and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline to register is August 12, unless sold out.
