This PDW introduces the Creating Emerging Markets (CEM) data source created by Harvard Business School to management scholars. The CEM project consists of a series of unique oral-history interviews with leaders of emerging markets and the PDW will discuss tools and methods to use this rich resource in the classroom and research activities. The interviews focus on how business leaders of emerging countries faced and adapted to challenges particular from that area of the world. The PDW will start with an introduction of the project by Tarun Khanna followed by other speakers who will show successful ways to use the interviews in the classroom After that, the audience will break into smaller discussion groups to brainstorm along pre-designed topics areas, such as 1) Teaching opportunities, 2) Research opportunities, 3) Case library augmentation opportunities; and 4) Opportunities for utilizing CEM as a platform. The PDW will end with a short debrief and highlight avenues for further collaboration and interdisciplinary research. |
