This panel symposium will explore the methodological frontiers of managerial and organizational cognition (MOC), an exciting and diverse interdisciplinary body of work that began some six decades ago. The methods available to MOC researchers have developed significantly over the past years and this discussion comes only a few months after the publication of the edited volume "Methodological Challenges and Advances in Managerial and Organizational Cognition" (Emerald) which takes stock of methodological developments, emphasizing the gradual move from the study of conscious to unconscious cognition, and cold to hot cognition. A number of contributors to that volume will meet at this symposium to discuss advances and challenges, and hopefully inspire others to explore the methods now available to cognition scholars.
