The objective of this PDW is to help scholars not only obtain but also effectively manage funded research projects. Faculty at many institutions are under increasing pressure to raise external funds for their research through competitive grants, corporate sponsorship, and other outreach efforts. While external funding provides access to research funds (and sometimes privileged access to data), it is often accompanied by constraints in the form of conflicting timelines, disclosure restrictions, and pressure to develop “applied” research questions. To the extent that these constraints impede publication in academic journals, a tension may thus exist between the growing need for external research funds and the (potential) costs associated with managing the expectations of external funding agencies.
Pre-registration is required for this workshop. To register online, please visit https://secure.aom.org/PDWReg. The deadline to register online is August 01, 2016.
